Week #4


Game Artist

This week is supposed to be the last week for game artist to complete asset design, especially the essential assets such as character animation, buildings, and properties.  The character animation is 70% completed, just need some fixation and adjustments on some assets as we discussed further about minor mechanic. We discussed about the melee attack for the main character. According to game programmers, completing melee attack codes requires more time than they expected, so we need to confirm wether the asset was ready or not, but in that time of discussion Melinda, character designer, was absence as she had an exam in her college. So, we decided to remove melee attack mechanic and focus on ranged attack mechanic for the main character. Widi, background designer, reported that she completed all the required assets for backgrounds and properties. So now, we can assemble the assets on the program and continue the development to game programmers.

Game Programmer

As mentioned above, game designer and game programmer already come in conclusion to remove melee attack mechanic. The original idea was creating 2 attack mechanics melee attack, character Koesno using Bambu Runcing and ranged attack using gun. But we decided to not include the melee attack as it requires more time to develop. Then we review some of game programmer progress. Alvi, reported that she completed 60% of the first level, only need to adjust the level length and several addition to the challenge. Game designer suggested to add more enemy and add enemy behind the character as the player move several distance. But, it needs more time to develop to do so. So, we decided to not add the spawning enemy and focus on adding more enemy in front of the players. Aryan reported that level 2 of the game is a bit harder to develop, so he decided to focus his time developing the final level as he already has the sample from Donkey Kong. He reported that level 2 enemy mechanic is quite difficult especially enemy's bomb movement and other enemy mechanic. After discussion, we decided to make the bomb moves towards the main character.
